Spanish Test for Assessing Morphologic Production (STAMP) - COMPLETE KIT (#4034-IN)

Ages 5 through 11. This instrument assesses production of Spanish morphemes as children complete sentences related to the action shown in pictures. An incomplete sentence is presented to the child, and the child is asked to complete that sentence. Plurals, verb endings, and various other structures are examined.

The instrument was developed based on the structure of the Spanish language. Means and standard deviations are reported for Spanish-speaking students between 5 and 11.

The test is easy to administer. The child is presented with a stimulus picture and asked to complete a sentence related to the action shown. The child must produce the target allomorphic variation of the structure being examined to receive a correct response. Both visual and verbal cuing are available to the child.

A literature review is included with developmental information about the acquisition of specific language structures.

This test makes it possible to obtain information about production of a variety of Spanish grammatical structures in a short period of time. The results can be used in conjunction with language samples to determine if the student has a communication disorder. The kit includes the manuals and a package of record forms.
