Ages 3 and up. Here is a comprehensive, practical activity resource that you can use to remediate the following sounds: /b/, /ch/, /d/, /f/, /g/, /k/, /l/, /p/, /r/, /s/, /sh/, /t/, voiceless /th/, /v/, and /z/. This book includes easy-to-use assessment probes, articulation progress record forms, stimulus pictures showing sounds in three word positions, action scenes featuring each sound, articulation thinking stories, reproducible playing boards, and lists of words, phrases, and sentences.
The book is organized into three sections:
- Noun Pictures and Worksheets - This section includes noun pictures for 15 target consonants. Each sound is represented in the initial, medial, and final word position. A worksheet with words, phrases, and sentence lists is included for each sound.
- Consonant Picture Stories - Each of the 15 target sounds is represented in two short stories. The first story targets the sound in word-initial position; the second story targets the sound in word-final position.
- SMART Sound Games - Reproducible game activities are included in this section. Each of the boards may be reproduced.
Reproducible assessment probes are included for individual consonants. Consonant production is assessed as the child repeats words. All of the record forms, pictures, and game worksheets may be reproduced for use in intervention.
The CD includes ONLY the reproducible pages from the book. You also need the printed book for the flip-page stories. The pages on the CD are in a PDF format that can be used if you have Adobe Reader on your computer. This program is available at no charge from
www.adobe.com. The optional CD makes it easy to print out copies of the reproducible book pages.
