Communication Board Software
Many special education specialists remember the days when they had to create communication boards by cutting out pictures and pasting them on boards. Those days are gone. Computer board programs now make it possible to create customized picture boards quickly. The Picture Master program for creating communication boards is available from Academic Communication Associates and includes approximately 18,000 images in a variety of styles.
Using Picture Symbols
A variety of picture symbols systems been used with individuals who have augmentative communication needs. Books containing these symbols are available from Academic Communication Associates . These books include a variety of practical activities and reproducible resources.
